RODRIGO DUTERTE: A TITAN AMONG AMATEURS
Editorial: Tio Moreno
Rodrigo Roa Duterte, the former President of the Philippines, is a man who has spent decades honing his expertise in governance, law enforcement, and public service.
Duterte’s resumè speaks for itself.
After earning his Bachelor of Laws from San Beda College of Law and passing the Philippine Bar Examination in 1972, he spent over a decade as a prosecutor in Davao City, where he gained a reputation for his no-nonsense approach to crime and justice.
His legal background laid the foundation for a career marked by decisive action and an unwavering commitment to the rule of law.
As Mayor of Davao City for over two decades, Duterte transformed one of the most dangerous cities in the Philippines into one of the safest.
His strict law enforcement policies and innovative governance strategies earned him international recognition and the respect of millions of Filipinos.
His success in Davao City was not a fluke; it was the result of years of hands-on experience, deep understanding of local issues, and an unrelenting drive to serve the people.
Duterte’s presidency further solidified his reputation as a leader who gets things done. His controversial but effective "War on Drugs" significantly reduced crime rates across the country, while his "Build, Build, Build" infrastructure program modernized the Philippines’ transportation networks and public services.
His independent foreign policy, which balanced relations with global powers like the United States, China, and Russia, showcased his ability to navigate complex international landscapes.
In stark contrast to Duterte’s extensive experience, many members of the current House of Representatives of the Philippines lack the depth of knowledge and practical expertise needed to effectively govern.
Ang alam lang nila is mang cite in contempt. Mang harass. At mang imbento ng kaso na wala namang solid evidence.
While Duterte was prosecuting criminals and running a country, some of these lawmakers were busy finding a source of funds for their cars, watches, and bags. While Duterte was implementing nationwide policies and negotiating with world leaders, many of them were still learning the basics of legislation.
The HOR’s recent actions, particularly their handling of impeachment proceedings and other high-stakes political maneuvers, have only highlighted their inexperience.
Their attempts to challenge Duterte and his daughter, Vice President Inday Sara Duterte, reek of political opportunism rather than a genuine commitment to public service.
Their lack of strategic foresight and understanding of constitutional law has led to a series of missteps that have undermined their credibility and effectiveness.
Rodrigo Duterte has spent his entire career fighting for the Filipino people, often against overwhelming odds. He has faced down criminals, insurgents, and political opponents with the same unyielding determination.
Duterte’s refusal to bow down to the HOR is not just a matter of pride; it’s a matter of principle.
He knows that the Filipino people deserve leaders who are capable, experienced, and committed to their welfare. Instead of wasting time and resources on political vendettas, they should focus on improving their own competence and understanding of governance.
Rodrigo Duterte is a titan among amateurs.
- Served as a prosecutor in Davao City for over a decade, handling criminal cases and gaining a reputation for his tough stance on crime.
- Served as Vice Mayor of Davao City from 1986 to 1987.
- First elected as Mayor of Davao City in 1988, serving until 1998.
- Re-elected as Mayor in 2001, serving until 2010.
- Elected again as Mayor in 2013, serving until 2016.
- Served as Representative of the 1st District of Davao City in the House of Representatives from 1998 to 2001.
- Served as Vice Mayor (2nd Stint) of Davao City from 2010 to 2013 under his daughter, Sara Duterte, who was then Mayor.
- 16th President of the Philippines
He knows the “galawan” and he is completely aware of the “ganap” in all branches of the government from Executive to Judiciary.
This is the reason why he won’t bow down to any of them.
The HOR should take note: true leadership is earned through experience, dedication, and a genuine commitment to public service.
Until they can match Duterte’s legacy, they have no right to challenge his authority.

These holes are not only amazing, but some of these are really terrifying -   especially #8!   The sheer scale of these holes reminds you of just how tiny you are.   1. Kimberley Big Hole , South Africa   A pparently the largest ever hand-dug excavation in the world, this 1097 meter deep mine yielded over 3 tons of diamonds before being closed in 1914.   2. Glory Hole , Monticello Dam , CA   A glory hole is used when a dam is at full capacity and water needs to be drained from the reservoir.   This is the 'Glory Hole' at Monticello dam, and it's the largest in the world of this type of spillway, its size enabling it to consume 14,400 cubic feet of water every second.   3. Comments from youtubers: I’m not pro-Duterte and anti-Marcos but to be objective, I strongly agree Duterte did a better job. Considering the Covid-19 pandemic occurred under the Duterte administration, he still did a great job. @ @kirksolina1033 @blackitsugayatoshiro6609 Minus the Pandemic and the Terrorist who destroyed Marawi, the progress will be much more felt.
