University students in Philippines rally against budget cuts, alleged corruption in government Students from the University of the Philippines have staged a walk-out in protest over corruption in the government. Some faculty members and activist groups joined the rallies, denouncing budget cuts and infrastructure projects that have either stalled, are substandard or in some instances, do not even exist.
